Creative Foundation
I came to screenwriting through formal training. My master's degree in television production from Boston University specializing in writing for sit-coms and years working in podcasting and production gave me a deep understanding of storytelling, craft, and how stories work across different mediums. That foundation informs everything I do now, whether I'm on set or at the keyboard.
Acting and screenwriting are integrated pursuits. Writing for the screen teaches me what actors need. Acting teaches me what writers should write. Both require the same core skill in understanding what a character wants and what stands in the way.
Screenwriting
I'm developing a feature-length screenplay called Messy Night. The project is tied to my work with the Richmond Film Network, where I'm both a member and an active participant in the creative community.
I regularly attend the Screenwriters' Lab, where I workshop ideas, share drafts, and learn from other writers. The lab pushes my work forward in real time.
Acting & Production
I audition for roles and participate in Richmond Film Network productions. Recent work includes auditions and casting calls. Upcoming. I'm the lead in a student film called Ordinary Thing.
I'm also participating in the 48 Hour Film Project , a competitive film sprint where teams have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a complete film. This project brings together my screenwriting, acting, and production experience in real-time constraint.
Richmond Film Network
The Richmond Film Network is my creative home. It's a community of filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, and producers focused on creating and screening independent work. Through RFN, I've built relationships with other storytellers, participated in workshops and screenings, and found a space where my work as both a writer and an actor is valued.
What Drives This Work
I'm drawn to stories that show what it means to be human. I want to tell stories that matter. And I want to be part of a creative community that's doing real work, not just talking about it. Acting and writing together keep me honest and engaged. They push each other forward.
